Chambers signs with NCAA D1 Patriots!

Scholarship Sports USA's Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper, Corey Chambers, put pen to paper on Friday night, signing with NCAA Division One, George Mason University. Chambers will be joining the Patriots in August to embark on his US collegiate career. Corey, who has been with SSU since 2016, has been highly sought after, within the NCAA Division One. A goalkeeper with international experience, winning the centenary shield with Ireland, and finishing runners up on another occasion. He has dual citizenship with Canada (Through his mother), and has represented the Maple Leafs against the likes of Costa Rica, South Korea and even Brazil at full international youth level. GMU are sure to not only be getting a wonderfully experienced goalkeeper, but also a great lad. Everyone that has had the pleasure of meeting Corey has always spoken about him in the highest regard. We are certainly excited to see what the future has in store for Corey.

George Mason University, located in Fairfax, Virginia, had somewhat of a transitional season in 2016. Losing 7 seniors from the 2015 roster was always going to take its toll on the Patriots. Following the conclusion of the 2015 season, the rebuilding process began. The new look Patriots undoubtedly needed time to gel and thats what the 2016 season provided, an opportunity to move into a new era. The recruiting class for 2017 promises to be an exciting, and entertaining group of guys. Corey Chambers will bring his considerable experience to the Patriots defence as he looks to hit the ground running. Playing in the Atlantic 10 (A10) Conference, against the likes of University of Dayton, Fordham and La Salle, George Mason will be looking to make a big statement in 2017.
